WOMAN’S HEALTH

A women’s health check is recommended every 2 years for women older than 18 years.

When booking for a women’s health check, a longer consultation is required so please inform our reception.

Women’s Health Check includes:

  • Cervical screening test. Women and people with a cervix aged 25-74 years should have a cervical screening test every 5 years.
  • Breast check. Breast problems can be subtle but significant. Routine and specific breast checks are important and are carried out as a part of the women’s health check.

Sexual Health Check
We provide safe sex education to address preventable problems and infections. We test for and treat sexually transmitted diseases. We also manage sexual dysfunction conditions and provide extensive education about contraception.

Prenatal Counselling
If you are planning to conceive, it is better that you talk to your doctor at least 3 months before you start trying as we would like to make sure that you are in the best of your health before carrying a baby.  This might involve blood tests or some imaging may be advised, as well as some advice about food and supplements, not to mention making sure your immunisation is up to the task of pregnancy.

Antenatal Care
Pregnancy is a medical condition with a wonderful outcome; let’s make sure we get it right. Speak to your doctor as soon as you know or suspect that you are pregnant, as the pregnancy journey will involve a lot of timely investigations and care such as blood tests and imaging.

Postnatal Care
It is important to get prepare for the next phase after your pregnancy. For instance, some problems appear trivial, but are significant. Please book with your doctor once you deliver your baby to help guide you in regards to feeding, sleeping, driving and exercise , not to mention providing you with an extensive medical assessment at the six weeks check-up.
